1. Introduction

SplitOn ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Ghalaita. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SplitOn mobile application and web platform (the "Service").

By using SplitOn, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers.

Financial Data: We store expense descriptions, amounts, split details, and settlement records that you enter into the app. We do not collect bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or payment credentials.

Device Information: When you submit feedback, we may collect your device platform, OS version, app version, app language, and device language to help us diagnose issues.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage information such as IP addresses and user agent strings for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.

Your data is stored on secure servers with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens are securely managed.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time from Account → Profile → Delete Account. When you delete your account, all your personal data (name, email, preferences) is permanently removed.

Group data: Expense and settlement records within a group are permanently deleted once all members have left or the group is deleted. No financial data is retained after all participants are gone.

Immediate removal: When you leave a group, your membership is removed and your personal balance data for that group is cleared.

7. Biometric Data

SplitOn supports Face ID and Touch ID for app unlock. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive, store, or transmit your biometric data.

8. Third-Party Services

If you sign in with Google or Apple, their respective privacy policies apply to the authentication process. We only receive your name and email — no other data from these providers.

9. Children's Privacy

SplitOn is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
